  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar and 1 tablespoon cocoa. Stir in shortening, vanilla and milk until smooth. Fold in nuts. Spread mixture in a 1-quart baking dish.
  • Stir together brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cocoa, and boiling water. Pour carefully over pudding mixture in baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven 30 to 45 minutes, until set.

To make this delicious brownie pudding, you’ll need a few simple ingredients: butter, sugar, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla extract, and milk. You’ll also need some hot water to create the luscious chocolate sauce that forms while baking.

First, I preheated the oven and prepared a baking dish by greasing it lightly. Then, I melted the butter in a saucepan over low heat and added the sugar and cocoa powder. I stirred the mixture until well combined and smooth, creating a glossy chocolate base.

Next, I removed the saucepan from the heat and added the flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract. I mixed everything together until the batter was well incorporated. The aroma of chocolate filled the air, making it even harder to resist the anticipation of tasting the final result.

I transferred the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Then, I sprinkled some additional sugar over the top, which adds a delightful crunch to the finished pudding.

Now comes the magical part. I poured hot water over the batter, being careful not to mix it in. This creates a beautiful chocolate sauce that develops as the dessert bakes.

I placed the baking dish in the oven and let it bake until the top formed a crust and the pudding became irresistibly gooey and fudgy underneath.

Once it was done, I removed the brownie pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly. The aroma wafting from the dish was absolutely divine, tempting me to dig in right away.

Serving the brownie pudding warm, I scooped generous portions into bowls and topped them with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The combination of the warm, gooey brownie and the cold, creamy topping was simply heavenly.

Each spoonful of brownie pudding was pure bliss. The rich, chocolaty flavors, the moist and fudgy texture, and the luxurious chocolate sauce made this dessert an absolute treat for any brownie lover.

I highly recommend giving this brownie pudding recipe a try. It’s a delightful twist on traditional brownies and is sure to satisfy your cravings for something sweet and chocolatey.
