I was excited to try the classic dish of Chicken Katsu. The thought of tender chicken breaded in panko, fried to golden perfection, had my taste buds eagerly anticipating the flavors to come. The best part? This recipe boasted a quick prep time and cook time, making it an ideal choice for a satisfying and convenient meal.

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves – pounded to 1/2 inch thickness

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs

  • 1 cup oil for frying, or as needed

  • Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper. Place the flour, egg and panko crumbs into separate shallow dishes. Coat the chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip them into the egg, and then press into the panko crumbs until well coated on both sides.
  • Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken in the hot oil, and cook 3 or 4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

With great enthusiasm, I gathered the ingredients and prepared the chicken, coating it in the crispy panko breadcrumbs. The aroma of the chicken frying in the pan filled my kitchen, adding to the anticipation of the delicious meal that awaited.

Once the Chicken Katsu was cooked to perfection, I plated it alongside a generous serving of fluffy rice. The golden crust of the chicken hinted at the satisfying crunch that would accompany each bite. With every mouthful, I savored the tender chicken, perfectly complemented by the crispy and flavorful breading.

The combination of textures and flavors in the Chicken Katsu was truly delightful. The simplicity of the dish allowed the natural flavors of the chicken to shine, while the panko breadcrumbs added an irresistible crunch. It was a complete and delicious meal that left me and my family completely satisfied.
